Key Responsibilities
  • To provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times following the 
  • Operational Standards of Personnel and our Clients. 
  • To be responsible for an assigned section within the event area. 
  • To seat, present menus, take orders, serve food and beverage to guests according to the established sequence and procedures. 
  • To set up, clear and reset designated work areas. 
  • To be fully conversant with all services and facilities offered by the hotel. 
  • To perform opening and closing procedures established for the place of work assigned. 
  • To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all food and beverage items on the menu and ability to recommend food and beverage combinations and up-sell alternatives. 
  • To ensure that the place of work and surrounding area is kept clean and organised at all times. 
  • To monitor operation supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage. 
  • To report lost and found items. 
  • To handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guests. 
  • To deliver an exceptional guest service at all times. 
  • To report for work punctually, wearing the correct uniform and maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department’s grooming standards. 
  • To read the Clients Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety. 
  • Handle guest and employee enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst feeding back a prompt follow up. 
  • Ensure high standards of personal presentation and grooming. 
  • Maintain positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships. 
  • Exercise responsible behaviour at all times and positively representing the company
General Duties
  • To report for work punctually, wearing the correct uniform and maintaining a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, according to the hotel and department’s grooming standards.
  • To demonstrate the hotel Personnel’s and our Client’s purposes and values at work.
  • To read the Client’s Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the Client’s rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.
  • Handle guest and employee enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst feeding back a prompt follow up.
  • Ensure high standards of personal presentation and grooming.
  • Maintain positive guest and colleague interactions with good working relationships.

  • Respond to requests to undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties and to changes as dictated by the hotel, industry and company.
Key Selection Criteria
  • Customer service experience is required, preferably in an Event or Food & Beverage related field 
  • Be able to work a flexible roster including, weekends, evenings and holidays 
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills 
  • Strong time management with the ability to juggle multiple demands 
  • Adaptable and previous experience working in a large and dynamic team 
  • A local certificate in food handling and hygiene (will be of advantage)
