Field Officer
The primary focus of the role is to carry out all contractual obligations relating to the licensing and compliance scheme in the region. This includes planning, investigation, inspection and reporting of audits. The role initiates incident reporting on non-compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and complete pre-audit documentation, conduct on-site and desktop audits and inspections in line with the Compliance and Assessment Policies and our contractual obligations.
- Report all audit and inspection outcomes into the Scheme data base in line with established timeframes. Information is comprehensive and retrievable by others. Oversee team member inputs to ensure required standards are met.
- Raise incident reports on non-compliance and vet those of team Field Officers.
- Follow-up any requests for information from Head Office or O&EM.
- Build effective and professional relationships with stakeholders. Make positive first impressions when setting up appointments and carrying out site visits. Respond and follow-up in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate with licence holders in identifying regulatory compliance gaps in current practice. Pro-actively problem-solving drawing on available company’s tools and resources, industry publications etc.
- Provide education, advice and assistance regarding any actual, speculated or alleged breaches of regulation
- Coordinate audits to ensure efficiency, effectiveness, consistency and alignment with established protocols and contractual obligations. Escalate any unusual or sensitive issues initially to O&EM.
- Compile and submit State/Territory performance statistical reports including action/reports on any complaints received from the Compliance Service Coordinator
- Support any new team member to be effective in their role
- Keep up-to-date with changes to practices and processes.
- Uphold all relevant OH&S and Environment Acts, Regulations and company’s Policies and Procedures
- Involvement in functional projects and initiatives about system improvement
- Proactively assess current practice and suggest ways to streamline and improve processes
Key Selection CriteriaThe successful applicant must be able to demonstrate and provide evidence of: - Strong ethical behavior, including experience in setting boundaries and working within a compliance environment
- Ability to work independently, in a team and to meet performance targets
- Excellent communication skills with strong oral communication and writing capability
- A positive 'Can-do' attitude
- Evidence and examples of situations where the applicant has identi?ed situations where issues required escalation to the next level of management for decision- making
- High-level problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to make constructive and positive recommendations to the company’s clients to promote compliance within legislative requirements
- Previous and/or current reports written by the applicant
- Computer literacy with ability to adapt to company’s automated environment
- Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable but not essential
- Having undertaken further studies and a capacity to undertake further study if necessary
It would be an advantage to hold a Certifcate IV in Government (Statutory Compliance), but if not, training will be provided to successful applicants.
It is also desirable for the applicant to be a competent Refrigeration Mechanic holding the appropriate licensing.
