About the Organisation Our client is an ASX-listed, equal opportunity business that develops and operates Australia's essential services networks across the telecommunications, utilities, transport, defence and social infrastructure industries, keeping communities connected. The organisation is launching new roles in its Transport division to support two new long-term Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) maintenance contracts awarded by the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning (DTP). The Victoria West ITS Maintenance Contract (VIMC) covers more than 4,500 ITS assets across 27 Local Government Areas, spanning around a third of metropolitan Melbourne and extending west to the South Australian border. The Motorway Communications Network Contract connects more than 2,000 roadside devices, including lane use management signs, variable speed limit signs, freeway ramp signals, CCTV and sensor technologies, while also connecting private road operators with Victoria's transport control system.
About the Role As the Finance Coordinator, you will provide accurate financial coordination, supporting cost capture, work in progress (WIP), invoicing, forecasting, reporting and audit evidence across maintenance, faults, projects and subcontracted services.
Key Responsibilities
Process and reconcile purchase orders, invoices, subcontractor claims and financial transactions
Ensure compliance with delegated authorities, financial controls and contract requirements, verifying costs and resolving discrepancies promptly
Maintain project cost structures, budgets and forecasts, and monitor financial performance against commitments and WIP
Provide timely variance analysis and reporting to contract leaders
Support client invoicing and progress claims by maintaining accurate, auditable records and supporting documentation
Ensure compliance with payment, reporting and contractual requirements
Prepare and deliver monthly financial reporting, reconciliations and cost analysis
Identify variances, control improvements and opportunities to enhance cost capture and operational efficiency
About You
Experience in project finance, contract accounting or financial administration, preferably within infrastructure, construction or maintenance services
Strong Excel and ERP capabilities, preferably including Jobpac, SAP or comparable systems
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to explain financial information clearly to operational and field-based stakeholders
Requirements
Qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or equivalent industry experience
